OUTSIDE THE FRAME

I first picked up a camera aged nine, captivated by what happened inside the frame. That curiosity led to early recognition as a young filmmaker, but it took much longer to recognise the quieter voice that kept drawing me beyond the frame, towards the people, the process, and the role in which I could best help others communicate.

Curiosity has remained the constant. I’ve found my greatest satisfaction in helping people communicate, both on camera and behind it — scaffolding the talents of others, discovering how to transform complex ideas into stories people genuinely understand and connect with, and creating environments where people feel inspired to do their best work.

Whether orchestrating the many moving parts of a production or independently guiding a project from first conversation to final delivery, I’m equally fulfilled by the collaborative spirit of filmmaking and the quiet problem-solving of discovering how best to help people communicate.

That curiosity is what continues to draw me back, whatever the story, the setting, or the scale of the production.
